Owner still committed to Reno City Center after latest default notice

A notice of default was filed on the Reno City Center project on Friday, the latest legal filing on the stalled property as its owner continues to negotiate new financial terms with its lender.

The filing with the Washoe County Recorder’s office includes more than 20 parcels comprising the former Harrah’s Reno hotel-casino. The notice was for a $104.4 million loan on the property.

This is not the first time that the project received a notice over its loan. In June last year, a notice was filed in New York City over the project with an auction date set for September. The auction, however, never happened and the notice was described as part of the negotiation process between Reno City Center ownership and its lender.
