Newly Listed $22 Million Estate Outside Charlotte Is Among the Metro’s Priciest

A nearly 6-acre property with three residences on North Carolina’s Lake Norman has hit the market for $22 million—making it one of the most expensive listings in the Charlotte area.

The compound, one of the largest in Iredell County on Lake Norman, offers a six-bedroom main home, a four-bedroom guest house and a smaller cottage with nine kennels, according to Lauren Hart of the Hart Real Estate Group, who listed the property in late December. Its price tag ties with a 14,346-square-foot mansion, also on Lake Norman, as the priciest asks around the Charlotte region.

Indeed, Lake Norman, the largest man-made body of freshwater in North Carolina, is a “highly desired” area, Hart said, and the property boasts year views of the lake.

“It is very close to Charlotte with only a 30-minute drive into the city,” she noted. “It is tucked away on a quiet street.”

The property was acquired in three deals in 2005, according to records with PropertyShark. Mansion Global could not determine the total price paid at the time. It’s owned by Tappan Real Estate Investors, a Florida-based LLC linked to Bruce Cassidy, owner of the Concession Golf Club in Bradenton, Florida, and his wife, Cynthia. Representatives for Cassidy did not immediately return a request for comment.

The main house has a “gorgeous entry with winding staircase and wrought iron spindles,” Hart said. It leads to a great room with a fireplace, double-height ceilings and walls of windows overlooking the water, listing photos show. The kitchen offers two islands and a pantry.

Other amenities of the main house include an office, a game room with a bar, a wine vault, and wet bars and coffee stations in the owner’s suite and bonus room. Outside, there are 2,500 square feet of porches, balconies and decks. The custom-designed pool and lounge area has a fire pit, plus two outdoor kitchens with high-end appliances.

The gated property also boasts a koi pond, covered boat dock and a private volleyball beach area. The property is currently monitored by a full-time groundskeeper and has been “meticulously cared for,” Hart said.

The property also has four wells, four septic systems and are on water softeners and continuous hot water flowing systems.

The Charlotte Business Journal first reported the listing.
